Event Date: July 12, 2025
The Tackle MS with Alex Tanney was created in 2018 with the Illinois Prairie Community Foundation to support organizations within the field of multiple sclerosis, specifically the Terry Wahls MD Research Fund. Alex retired from the New York Giants, ending a 9 year playing career in the NFL, and is currently the Passing Game Coordinator for the Indianapolis Colts. Alex and his wife, Rebecca, both come from rural Illinois towns (Lexington and Monmouth) and cherish the close relationships they have with their families. When Alex was starting his NFL career, his sister-in-law, Julia was beginning to experience new symptoms which became the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. Alex has seen the impact of multiple sclerosis in his family and Julia’s life, and he hopes to use this fund to support and bring awareness to the disease.
Alex will be hosting a charity youth football camp (grades 1-8) on July 12, 2025, in Monmouth, IL, as an additional way to support this cause. Proceeds from the event go to the Terry Wahls MD Research Fund at the University of Iowa who is at the forefront of multiple sclerosis research. Through additional research, the University of Iowa and Dr. Terry Wahls will be able to help many individuals in the community and around the world by reversing or stopping the progression of their diseases. It is very important for our organization to get support from sponsors to make the event possible, and we greatly appreciate your consideration.
All donations/sponsorships are tax deductible, and a letter with tax ID information will be provided to all sponsors.
